Farmhouse - General Store Stationery Keeper

My second project using the new collection -Farmhouse by Graphic 45 is this "General Store" Stationery Keeper. I had an idea to make just a box but "just a box" is well, just a box. I wanted to make the "box" more purposeful so I added a chimney to store pencils in, magnetic strips along the rook to hold notes and a drawer underneath to hold papers etc. Inside, when you open the hinged lid, you'll find a calendar which is fixed to a magnetic board so you can replace the calendar year after year. I made a caddy for the upper part of the inside to keep little stationery bits that often get lost. You can then lift the caddy out and there is more space below.

Farmhouse - Tag Shaped Album and Keeper Box

I love farm-themed papers and this new release from #graphic45 is so gorgeous with checks and prints in rustic reds, butter yellows, blacks and creamy whites. The papers are a considered purchase for most crafters so I usually choose to make something other than greetings cards which might end up in recycling. I have so far made two pieces with the papers, one is a tag-album box and the other is a stationery keeper.

The tag album box was made from a kit. Once I constructed it, I just added the decorative papers. It has two doors that open outwards to reveal the album inside. For the Stationery Keeper Click HERE

Bird House Album Box

I ordered new papers this week and couldn't wait to make something pretty from them. I chose to make this bird house album box. It looks pretty just as it is with the roof in situ but life the roof off and all is revealed.

My first version was in lavender design papers

The second is in beautiful pink roses

Time On My Side

Having nowhere to go or markets to attend, I am afforded a little more time to make more detailed pieces, which is fun.

Here is an album I made recently. It's a 9" x 9" album and it's stuffed with flowers. I've based it on a Victorian Book Of Flowers. It has a purple theme running through it as I found that the dominant colour from the base papers. The piece is made up of different collections of papers.
